Master the Art of Songwriting with the Calabogie Peaks Songwriters Workshop

SongwritersWorkshop2016_logo_blacktextMusic touches us all and for some it’s a calling. To create a song with nothing more than a few words, a rhythm, and a trusty guitar requires a combination of raw talent and experience, but gaining those career-defining lessons can be difficult when you don’t know where to begin. That’s why we’re incredibly excited to host our first Songwriters Workshop here at Calabogie Peaks Resort from June 27th to 29th, right before the Mountain Man Music Festival.

Hosted by professional Nashville songwriters Byron Hill, Gil Grand, and Jeffrey East, this 3-day Workshop will provide the basis for aspiring songwriters of any style looking to make their mark in the industry. You can learn more by checking out our Songwriters Workshop page on the CPR website and read the press release below. To sign up, give us a call at 1-800-669-4861 or email events@calabogie.com.

Byron Hill, an award winning record producer, has written songs released on 77 gold and platinum albums and singles and 32 U.S. and Canadian top-ten chart hits among other accolades. Byron was a 2015 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame nominee and his songs have been recorded by Ray Charles, George Strait, Kenny Rodgers, Randy Travis,  Alabama and so many others.

Gil Grand, a songwriter, producer and publisher, is a multiple CCMA winner and nominee including Male Vocalist of the Year, Song of the Year and Record Producer of the Year”.  A much anticipated single will be released in the next week.

Born into a preforming family, Jeffrey East’s songwriting career took off when he allowed his emotions to drift into song.  His passion for the craft has led recording artists Dierks Bentley, Sister Hazel, The Farm, Rainey Qualley, Point of Grace and others to record his masterful pieces.

Connecting with these three award winning songwriters, workshop participants will learn among other things, how to become noticed in the industry, improve their songwriting skills, how to collaborate with others and how to get a demo produced and heard by the right people. The workshop will conclude with a “In the Round” performance which will be opened to the public.

To maximize the writing experience and the intimacy of this event with Byron, Gil and Jeffrey there are a limited number of spaces  for the workshop.  For more information go to www.calabogie.com or contact us at 1-800-669-4861.
